Tuscany is well known not only for its beauty, food and wine, but also for its great passion for music. Hence its no surprise that Chianti Kitchen hosted on October 6, 2008 a musical barbecue: 8 musicians and singers were joined by Seamus, Patrizia and many other friends to play music and enjoy a great barbecue.
MUSICAL BARBECUE MENU
Antipasti
Black tuscan crostini, Eggplant rolls, Sweet onions in sour-sweet sauce, Tomatoes with Onions of Tropea, Baked olives.
Primi
Fusilli with a sage pesto – click for recipe
Secondi
Rosticciana, which is a Tuscan expression for barbecued pork ribs and sausages, followed by Fiorentina steaks; all accompanied by two home-made breads: 7 cereals and a peperoncino
Dolci
Chocolate cake and tiramisu
The mix of delicious, hearty food and music played from the heart is the recipe for an unforgettable evening – and Chianti Kitchen was the perfect setting for it: both the cooking school and the terrace became the stages for rich performances. The dinner was also an occasion for the inauguration of a new Chianti Kitchen recipes: fusilli with a sage pesto.
The musicians at the barbecue included:
Ranieri Sessa – guitar
Attila Simon – violin
Amadeo Ronga - base
Marta Agnelli – vocals
Stefano Negri – flute
Seamus de Pentheny O’Kelly – percussions
Stefano Rapicavoli – drums
Mauro Volpini – accordino
Silvia Pacini – vocals/soprano.
The heart of this group was Ranieri Sessa, the awesome guitarist. Visit his website to find out more about his music and co-performers.

We hope that some day soon you will join us for a similar musical event here in Tuscany.
